Nicola’s - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 4/30/24

Nicola's: Little did we expect when we kicked off this week's game that we would be witnessing history in the making. About Faces snagged the OTB extra point and then proceeded to run the table throughout the early rounds. *draw a picture of a margarita on the Round 2/Question 1 response to score bonus points* At Halftime, About Faces was rocking a perfect halftime score and held a substantial lead over Too Young To Win, closely followed by a 4-way tie between Landing Crew, Boli Express, 3gals and StuAndBunny. About Faces continued to maintain their momentum during the second half, narrowly avoiding the "perfect halftime score curse", albeit thanks to a late game do-over. Going into the Final Bonus, About Faces held an insurmountable lead over the field, in fact they had already accomplished this feat by the end of Round 5. The question then being: would they even bother or *dare* to wager any points for the Final Bonus?

Several teams correctly answered this week's (Level 4) Final Bonus, but not everyone wagered points. And we needed a tie-breaker to determine our 2nd Place prize winner.

1) About Faces (correctly answered the Final Bonus for a Perfect Game! However, they did not wager any points, which could have catapulted them into rare triple-digit territory).

On Tuesday night, New Year's Eve, Nicola Pizza hosted an unforgettable round of Let's Do Trivia ! Thirteen teams gathered to compete in a night full of fun, knowledge, and friendly rivalry. The first half saw Off Center take the lead with 34 points, closely followed by Landing Crew (32) and Boli Express (30). Grussell Sprouts, K n K, and Torbert Fam tied for fourth with 29 points each. At halftime, Landing Crew surged ahead with an impressive 40 points, while Torbert Fam (35) and a tie between Off Center and Boli Express (34 each) kept the competition tight. In the second half, Landing Crew maintained their dominance, ending with 74 points, but Torbert Fam gained momentum, finishing strong with 61 points, while Off Center held steady with 58. In the final standings, Torbert Fam clinched the top spot with 81 points, taking home the $50 prize. Nicola's: Another packed house for this week's game filled with several of our veteran teams along with a handful of newcomers. Happy Locals took the OTB extra point for the third week straight! It was a 3-way battle at the front for the lead between About Faces, Boli Express and Trivia Newton John over much of the early rounds. *draw a picture of an apple on the (10/8/24) Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points* At the halfway mark, Trivia Newton John held a slim lead over About Faces, Handful of Johnsons, Lucy's Gang, then a tie between Off Center and Boli Express. The second half did well to shuffle the running order. Going into the Final Bonus, About Faces held the advantage over Trivia Newton John, Off Center, Boli Express and Handful of Johnsons. Nicola's: Our summer hiatus has ended, and we had a double-digit crowd filled with plenty of familiar faces join our game. Happy Locals snagged the OTB extra point and got off to an excellent start, but About Faces soon took over at the front and ran the table throughout the half. *draw a picture of Garfield The Cat on the (9/24/24) Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points* At the halfway mark, About Faces held the lead with a perfect halftime score ahead of a tie between Goin' Postal and Wheel Hose, followed by a 3-way tie between Off Center, Happy Locals and Dr. Zoom. The second half spread out the field a bit and ended About Faces' perfect run, but didn't hamper their run at the front. Going into the Final Bonus, they were trailed by a tie between Goin' Postal and Wheel Hose, then Landing Crew and Off Center. None of our teams correctly answered the Final Bonus, and we needed a tie breaker to determine our 2nd place prize winner. F...
