Nicola, Rehoboth Beach– Let’s Do Trivia –050322

The Rejects were Thinkin' & Drinkin' with Happy Locals In The Doghouse while Sharkbites were not Three's Company and at the end of the Boli Express bar sat We're Helium Positive kicking off the next to the last game of the season at Nicola Pizza on the avenue last week. Happy locals took the OTB and it was a free for all first half. The break revealed In The Doghouse out in front of We're Helium Positive by 3 points. The Rejects sat 2 more off the pace with Three's Company a few more back. Our house team and Sharkbites were tied with Thinkin' & Drinkin' and Happy Locals rounding out the 15 point spread.

 

A team of four (I apologize for losing their name) joined the fray to make it more interesting. We're Helium Positive and Sharkbites seemed unstoppable and aced the entire second half. In The Doghouse, Thinkin' & Drinkin' and The Rejects came close to keeping up with the blistering pace, missing only a single question each. R2, Q1 Art Bonus: Draw a Parking Meter. The three other original teams stumbled twice each and our latecomers never did find their groove, riding off into the night before the final question, at which time We're Helium Positive had slipped past In The Doghouse by 1. The Rejects were still in 3rd but now only 4 out of the lead. Sharkbites had chewed their way into 4th, 2 points behind The Rejects. The rest of the field remained under the point spread which had grown by one additional point. It was anybody's game.

 

The correct final answer was a mystery to all our teams so only the wagering would make the difference. Once my abacus cooled down and the scores were tallied, the standings hadn't changed from before the final question.

 

As the town of Rehoboth Beach has found it in their hearts to activate the parking meters two weeks early this year, this coming week (May 10, 2022) will be the last Let's Do Trivia game of this season.

Nicola's: Our summer hiatus has ended and we had a dozen teams filled with plenty of familiar faces join our game. Handful of Johnsons snagged the OTB extra point and got off to an excellent start, running at the front of the pack over the early rounds. *draw a picture of a glowing cowboy on the (9/23/25) Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points* At Halftime, we had a tie for the lead between If This Was Strip Poker We'd Be Naked and Big Dave, closely followed by Blame It On The Alcohol, Happy Locals and Off Center. The second half spread out the field just a bit. Going into the Final Bonus, If This Was Strip Poker We'd Be Naked still held the top spot followed by a tie between Off Center and Happy Locals, then Blame It On The Alcohol and The Boli Express. Nicola’s - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 10/7/25 *Inflated Prize Alert*

Nicola's: Another fun group of teams joined our game this week. The Boli Express snagged the OTB extra point to get the early jump out of the gates. It was a challenging game, with The Boli Express and Blame It On The Alcohol running neck-n-neck at the front throughout the first half. *draw a picture of Betelgeuse on the (10/14/25) Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points* At the halfway mark, The Boli Express held a slim lead over Landing Crew, Blame It On The Alcohol, Kickin' Assets and Off Center. The Boli Express slipped just a bit midway through the second half, allowing Landing Crew to move into the top spot. Going into the Final Bonus, Landing Crew were just ahead of a tie between Blame It On The Alcohol and The Boli Express, then Kickin' Assets and Off Center.
