Let's Do Trivia – Nicola Rehoboth Beach– 042622

 

Five of our nine teams started off acing round 1 at Nicola Pizza on the avenue last week, with one of them taking the OTB as well. Everyone had trouble with round 2 band only one of them found their groove for round 3. The halftime answer eluded all but two of our teams. The standings at the half had a tie at the top (which we had to break to be able to award the halftime prize). Eight Is Enough prevailed over The Rejects for the lead at the break. Sharkbites sat in 3rd with We're Helium Positive in 4th (only 3 points between the top four teams. Happy Locals were in 5th with BAM (their name abbreviated) in 6th, Geri & The Atrics in 7thand the house team (Boli Express) in 8th rounding out the narrow 13 point spread. For some unknown reason Scarlet Star had to shoot across the sky and abruptly left the building.

 

The entire second half was pretty much a pain for everyone. Only We're Helium Positive scored a round ace. They and Boli Express were the only ones to come up with both parts of the music bonus too. Draw a Dandilion for your R2Q1 secret points. Just before the final question we discovered Bam had also slipped out into the night, leaving us with a 15 point spread across our seven remaining teams. The Rejects had eased by Eight Is Enough by a single point. We're Helium Positive had also swapped places with Sharkbites. Boli Express muscled their way past both Geri & The Atrics and Happy Locals.

 

Only one of our teams submitted the correct final answer, vaulting them way out front while everyone else faltered at the last moment. The Rejects had handily won the game plus the inflated 1st place prize.

Both Scarlet Star and BAM had left the building.

Nicola's: It was a packed house for this week's game. Harvo, Speed Bumps and Dr. Zoom all won OTB extra points for their responses to get the ball rolling. It was a close, competitive match, with several teams vying for the top spot throughout the first half. *draw a picture of a jack o'lantern on the (11/4/25) Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points* At Halftime, Midnight Meat Train and Speed Bumps shared the top spot over If This Was Strip Poker We'd Be Naked, P&J, then a tie between Landing Crew and Blame It On The Alcohol. The second half really shook up the running order, while Graying Personalities put in the strongest performance. Going into the Final Bonus, P&J held the lead aheqad of Speed Bumps, Blame It On The Alcohol, then a tie between Midnight Meat Train and Graying Personalities. Nicola’s - Let's Do Trivia Blurb - 10/7/25 *Inflated Prize Alert*

Nicola's: Another fun group of teams joined our game this week. The Boli Express snagged the OTB extra point to get the early jump out of the gates. It was a challenging game, with The Boli Express and Blame It On The Alcohol running neck-n-neck at the front throughout the first half. *draw a picture of Betelgeuse on the (10/14/25) Round 2/Question 1 response for bonus points* At the halfway mark, The Boli Express held a slim lead over Landing Crew, Blame It On The Alcohol, Kickin' Assets and Off Center. The Boli Express slipped just a bit midway through the second half, allowing Landing Crew to move into the top spot. Going into the Final Bonus, Landing Crew were just ahead of a tie between Blame It On The Alcohol and The Boli Express, then Kickin' Assets and Off Center.
